“But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”
Romans 10:14-15

New Church Growth Network Launches to Support PC(USA) Leaders in Fostering Vital, Faithful Congregations
Chicago, IL — The PC(USA) Church Growth Network (PCGN) officially launched in June 2025 with a bold vision: to encourage and equip PC(USA) congregations and new faith communities to grow in size, vitality, and mission impact. Rooted in Acts 16:5, the PCGN exists to support leaders who value and believe local congregations and new faith communities are called and created to be “strengthened in faith and increase in numbers.”
The PCGN is a national learning community for leaders across the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) who are committed to faithful and healthy church growth. Through fostering relationships, celebrating progress, and providing practical learning opportunities, the network seeks to empower pastors, elders, and innovators to lead dynamic and impactful ministries.
“This is a new conversation for some, a renewed one for others—but a necessary one for all,” Rev. Josh Erickson, moderator of the PCGN leadership team. “If you care about the future of the church and believe that faithful growth is possible, we invite you to join us.”
The PCGN is hosting an informational Zoom meeting on Tuesday, July 22 at 11am Central Time. You can go to https://www.pcgrowthnetwork.org to get more information about this Zoom meeting.
Key Areas of Focus
- Numerical Growth: Sustainable increases in engagement, worship attendance, and membership.
- Vitality: Emphasis on missional, ecclesial, adaptable, and experiential vitality.
- Mission Impact: Making a tangible difference in the lives of neighbors and communities.
PCGN also holds strong commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and welcomes participants from all PC(USA) backgrounds—rural, urban, or suburban; large, mid-size, or small congregations. The network is ecumenically open and aligned with the core values and polity of the PC(USA).
