Our host site, First Presbyterian Church of Englewood (FPCE), is a growing, very diverse, LGBT-affirming congregation located in Northern New Jersey, just minutes from Manhattan. After a fire destroyed its historic sanctuary, FPCE continued to grow despite a construction effort that was first delayed by legal disputes with their insurer followed by drastic Covid-induced spikes in construction costs. FPCE finally opened their new worship space in August, 2024, featuring flexible seating and a state-of-the-art AV system.
Long recognized as a leader in the effective deployment of church technology, FPCE has been livestreaming services since 2017. The Rev. Richard Hong, FPCE's pastor since 2005, authored the "Church in the Digital Age" column for Presbyterians Today.
